The Castle Trail |
|
|
A
study of local history is a study of clan warfare, and the area is particularly
rich in castles, many of which are open to the public in the summer.
Ballindalloch has been in the same family for 400 years, Cawdor reeks
of Macbeth and foul deeds, and is still owned and lived in by the Thane.
Close by Cawdor are Darnway and Brodie, and if you go in the opposite
direction into Aberdeenshire, Balmoral, Kildrummy, Craigievar, and Fyvie
are all essential visiting along with many others.
