About the house.
The house is an old victorian shooting lodge, fully modernised to the needs of today. It is centrally heated throughout. The house is furnished to a high standard, almost exclusively with the owner’s own furniture. The kitchen has been fully restyled for the benefit of self-catering parties and is equipped to suit large groups.
Downstairs the reception rooms are comfortable and spacious with large open fires. The principal rooms include a large fully equipped bar, a hall cum drawing room, a dining room, breakfast room, TV room, cloakrooms, and drying room. In the bar there is a tape/CD system.
Upstairs there is luxury accommodation for 23 people in 11 double/twin bedded rooms and 1 single. 10 of these rooms have their own en-suite facilities, and the other 2 each have private bathrooms.

Your hosts
Your hosts, Simon and Amalia Taylor live in a cottage immediately adjacent to the rear of the lodge; so they are on hand to solve any problems that may arise, yet not in your hair. They particularly respect your privacy.
About the grounds
These have been extensively remodelled to provide a beautiful and serene setting to admire the flowers and shrubs, or to sit in the sun and read a book.
The Glenlivet locality
Although situated in the depths of the countryside it’s only a 10 minute drive to the shop and post office at Ballindalloch, where you can get all the necessities of life as well as papers and petrol. Also within 10 minutes are 3 pubs! If you’d like to eat out the Minmore House Hotel is just a 5 minute walk away, and there are other hostelries at Ballindalloch and Aberlour (20 mins drive.)
Fish, meat, fruit and veg, and milk can all be delivered to the house, and that apart, Elgin (40 min.s drive) is a large shopping centre with most breeds of supermarket.
What is it like to stay here?
When you take Glenlivet House you have the house entirely to yourselves. It is always let exclusively to one party at a time. From outside the house, apart from the smaller birds singing in the trees, you can hear the grouse calling on the surrounding heather covered hills, and gaze at superb scenery in almost every direction. You may also relish the sweet smell of the Glenlivet distillery as it works its magic with barley and water. This apart the air is fresh and pure, so you will sleep like a log. The house oozes comfort and relaxation, so you will end your holiday totally refreshed and rejuvenated, though much regretting that you cannot stay longer.
Call us or submit an enquiry for more information and to discuss you needs. We look forward to your enquiry.
Sincerely
Simon & Amalia Taylor
